  1. Abbreviations used in Texas State transfer credit evaluations.
  2. Numbered Course (ex: CHEM 1410) Directly equivalent course, fully transferable.
    ELNA (ex: CHEM ELNA) Elective, non-advanced (lower level). Transferable course that has no direct Texas State equivalent. Contact your academic advisor for substitution in a degree program.
    ELADV (ex: CHEM ELADV) Elective, advanced (upper level). Transferable course that has no direct Texas State equivalent. Contact your academic advisor for substitution in a degree program.
    NT Nontransferable. No transfer credit.
    TV Technical/Vocational. No transfer credit. However, technical and vocational courses may be reviewed by your academic advisor for use in some degree programs.
    ACT Physical fitness and wellness activity credit.

  3. Role of the Undergraduate Admission Office in Determination of Transfer Credit - The Undergraduate Admission Office reviews each course taken at another college or university, makes the initial determination of whether or not a course is transferable to Texas State, and creates an evaluated transcript for transfer students.
  4. Role of College Dean and Academic Advisor - The College Dean is responsible for determining how transferred credit applies toward a student's degree at Texas State. Your academic advisor will assist in this process.
  5. Role of the University College - General education courses evaluated as electives (ELNA or ELADV) may be reviewed by the University College for application to the general education core curriculum or to the general studies perspective requirements.
